Crossrail is a major engineering project, with the aim to provide a high-frequency suburban passenger service crossing London from west to east.
Permarail has been engaged by various clients to provide EMC testing activities to facilitate the testing & commissioning of the Crossrail Central Operating Section and a number of individual stations during initial energisation, static testing and dynamic testing.
Permarail has provided testing and EMC support for the following activities:
- Lineside RFI testing during test train running.
- RFI and EMF measurements at new substations.
- RFI and EMF measurements at new passenger stations.
- Specialist RFI measurements to assess the impact of variable speed drives for ventilation fans.
- EMF measurements to support Canary Wharf station commissioning.
- Harmonic current monitoring at Canary Wharf.
- Induced voltage measurements on key tunnel infrastructure.
- Short circuit testing at Plumstead sidings and Westbourne Park ATS.
- Touch voltage testing at key locations including stations, tunnels and portals.
